Yehia Sadek I
have found that my favorite painting subjects typically are
seascapes, beaches, sailboats and cloudy skies because they remind me so much
of Alexandria, Egypt where I was born in 1939. As a child I began my love
for art with much encouragement from my father who always supplied me with
drawing materials. When I was in high school my father continued his support
by upgrading my supplies from simple pencils for sketching to colored pencils, watercolor,
and oilpaintings. I took some time off from painting
while I attended college at Cairo University, where I instead devoted my free
time to the campus swimming and rowing teams . After graduating from CU
I worked for about 6 years as an accountant before moving to the United States
in 1969. I began studies of the English language in San Francisco and then
regained my interest in painting and enrolled in art courses. I threw
myself into painting again and really began studying the masters while gaining
more interest in painting with watercolors. I enjoy painting with watercolors
because of the ease and beauty of the medium. Of course I also use oils and
acrylics. I am also learning computer graphics.
I enjoy seeing and visiting all of the wonderful cities of the World. currently
reside in a small town on the New Jersey shore, painting a lot of the landscapes
and architecture of the area. |
